The Center of Excellence for Women and Technology (CEW&T) is pleased to announce the promotion of Michelle Bartley-Taylor to Senior Associate Director and the hiring of JesAlana Stewart Thomas as Program Coordinator.
This growth in our full-time staff will allow CEW&T to continue to serve and empower women and individuals across the Indiana University (IU) campus and beyond, and will undoubtedly help us to expand and develop exceptional programs to educate and encourage the use of technology as a catalyst to excellence in every field.
In her previous role with CEW&T, Michelle served as Assistant Director for Student Engagement, where she supervised special interest groups and focused on developing strategic initiatives, events, and programs that delivered engaging educational experiences for freshman through PhD level students. As she expands to her new role, Michelle will take on greater responsibility of CEW&T efforts to plan, facilitate, and implement affiliate programming and will spear-head new initiatives and operational goals for the Center. Finally, she will serve as a leader in affiliate recruitment, she will aid in grant writing, and she will further develop external collaborations for the Center.
JesAlana recently finished her doctorate in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education at IU. Prior to her role with CEW&T, she worked as the program assistant for IU’s Center for the Study of Global Change, where she collaborated in developing campus and state-wide programs to advance international perspectives, global engagement, and interdisciplinarity. As Program Coordinator, JesAlana’s mission is to positively impact CEW&T affiliates through innovative and relevant educational programs and events and to broaden the reach of the CEW&T image so as to provide opportunities and empowerment for women both locally and globally.
Congratulations to Michelle and JesAlana and we wish you the best moving forward in these new roles!
