The Summit is open to anyone. Topics presented should be of interest to IU faculty, staff, students, and alumnae of any campus, as well as community members.
Lots of reasons! At the Summit, you’ll be able to build new tech skills, learn about career opportunities, network with faculty, staff and students from IU, learn how technology can help advance your career, research and teaching, even if you’re not in a tech field, connect with employers, learn how you can make a difference with technology, and focus on your leadership skills! Attending is free!
If you are attending any of the activities for the Kickoff Celebration on March 4, or the Plenary Luncheon and Book Signing with Ruchika Tulyshan on March 28, please stop by our Registration table to pick up your nametag* and your swag**.
You can find the Registration table at these locations:
*You must show your nametag to receive a professional headshot and/or a chair massage.
**While supplies last, we are giving away t-shirts, tote bags, carabiners, and stickers. Additionally, the first 100 attendees to both the Faculty Plenary Luncheon with Dr. Safiya U. Noble on March 4 and the Plenary Luncheon and Book Signing with Ruchika Tulyshan on March 28 will receive free copies of the presenters' books.
Yes. Anyone attending any Summit events - in-person or virtual - must register.
In order to access virtual events, you'll need to be granted access to the Whova online conference platform. That happens after you register for the Summit.
For In-person events, you go to the appropriate location.
For virutal events, you'll log into Whova. You can read all about how to set up your account and get the most out Whova here.
Nothing! This year’s Summit is free for all attendees!
You can find the schedule here.
This is YOUR Summit! Attend as many or as few sessions as you want! You can use the Whova app to save sessions you want to attend so you don’t forget!
Yes!
We recommend Business Casual (from the waist up, at least, for virtual-only events).
You’ll need a laptop, tablet, or smartphone to access the Whova platform for virtual events.
Additionally, some breakout sessions may request that you bring a laptop to the session. That information will be included in the session description.
We’ll be using Whova to host Summit virtually, and the sessions will be Zoom links that are embedded into the app, so you don’t have to go searching for links. Presenters have been instructed to make their presentations as interactive as possible, and this will happen through games, discussions, and even the opportunity to win prizes! Check out the Whova Attendee Guide.
