Congratulations to our Social Media Coordinator, Sara Dobbins, on receiving CEW&T’s Outstanding Student Leadership Award announced at the 2019 CEW&T Summit! This annual award honors a student who has had a significant and positive influence on IU students, exemplifies leadership skills, encourages peers and students, and serves as a staunch advocate for women in technology.
“I've always admired Sara's positive outlook and can-do attitude. She approaches challenges as opportunities and invites those around her to do the same. She consistently lifts others up.” says Olivia Malone, CEW&T’s Black Women in Technology Lead Intern said.
According to Lynnea Phillips, Assistant Director of Digital and Social Media for IU Athletics and CEW&T’s Social Media Staff Champion, “I’m so proud of the hard work & commitment to CEWiT Sara has exhibited during her time…. Sara has balanced late night and early morning schedules while leading a revamped social strategy, combined with planning social media related events to further the technical knowledge & skills of her peers at Indiana University. Sara Dobbins’ recognition as the CEWiT Outstanding Student is extremely well deserved.”
Sara, an Accelerated Masters student studying Information Systems and Policy Analysis is poised to graduate this May where she next heads to New York as a Technology Advisory Staff Consultant with EY Ernst & Young. On receiving the award, Sara says, "It is an honor to be recognized for this award! CEW&T has contributed tremendously to my personal and professional development and given me the opportunity to make life long connections. I am so thankful for the community I have found in CEW&T, and would encourage students, staff and community members to get involved with CEW&T."
