Graphic Design Intern

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, the Graphic Design Intern supports the Center’s branding by creating clear, engaging visual assets to be used for the Center’s campus presence, both online and print. The Graphic Design intern will be responsible for:

  • Designing and editing various digital images, such as graphics for website, social media, email campaigns, presentations and reports, print pieces and other marketing materials
  • Assist with layout, typography, and photography decisions for print and digital projects
  • Create visual assets like logos, illustrations and infographics based on project briefs
  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager and other team members to develop creative concepts
  • Incorporate feedback and make revisions to designs to meet project expectations and goals
  • Ensure all designs align with Center brand guidelines
  • Assist with file management, organization and versioning of design assets
  • Maintain and adhere to project deadlines

All student employees are required to:

  • Attend weekly meeting with Marketing Manager.
  • Attend mandatory Leadership Training on August 22-23, 2025.
  • (Requirement waived as date has already passed.)
  • Attend and present at our annual Summit, scheduled for 3/6 and 3/7, 2026.
  • Attend Intern Celebrations on 12/5/25 from 4:30–6:30p and 4/26/26 from 5:30–7:30p.

Qualifications

  • Must be a current IU Bloomington student
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other common design layout applications
  • Familiarity with design for both digital and print media
  • Strong understanding of color, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy and a keen eye for design trends
  • Ability to take creative direction and feedback from Marketing Manager and/or team members
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in partnership with the team

Preferred:

  • HTML/CSS coding skills

Schedule and Pay

Work Schedule

Hours: 10-12 hours per week

An average of 10 hours per week to be performed mostly during normal business hours (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm). Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
