Project Description

Climate change is causing stronger and more variable storm events in the Great Lakes region. People in the Great Lakes region need to identify their personal and local vulnerabilities to these storm events and develop adaptation strategies that will help them (and their homes) more resilient to the severe Great Lakes storms. To help people through this adaptation decision-making process, we have developed home adaptation guidance and decision support tools. We will be holding focus groups online (in the fall and winter). Students will participate as support staff in the focus groups in the fall. The focus group data also needs to be analyzed to determine optimal approaches for helping people through this process and to identify how the guidance and decision support tools may need to be optimized based on focus group feedback. (This is a risk communication project.)

Technology or Computational Component

Tools we will use include zoom, OneDrive, Office 365, and whatever presentation programs you choose to utilize (powerpoint, Excel typically).Analysis might be using NVivo or other similar software.
