Building and testing a web interface for exploring story maps and location-specific data

Project Description
Climate change is causing stronger and more variable storm events in the Great Lakes region. People living there need to ensure that they are prepared for the potential impacts of the Great Lakes storms. We are building a database that enables people to investigate the potential flood impact of storm events on their neighborhoods. An initial web interface has been designed for this database (in Wix), but more of the webpage interfaces need to be designed, built, and tested. An optional piece of this project is to help update the database using ArcGIS. Skills you will be trained on and work with will include: research in the peer reviewed literature, comparative website analysis, risk communication best practices for web design, data presentation, and results summarization, and (if desired) GIS.
