Project Description
Students will learn that viral RNA is a functional macromolecule, important for virus replication. In a lab setting, they will learn how to amplify RNA in E. coli cells, purify them, and carry out functional (protein interaction) studies.
Technology or Computational Component
We use RNA structure prediction programs to design RNAs that we would like to express and determine the structures. Students will experience with multiple RNA prediction programs for secondary and tertiary structures.
