Project Description
Climate change is causing stronger and more variable storm events in the Great Lakes region. People living there need to ensure that they are prepared for the potential impacts of the Great Lakes storms. We are building a database that enables people to investigate the potential flood impact of storm events on their neighborhoods. The next step for this project is to design and build a web interface for the data. This project will be to investigate possible web interface designs based on both the literature and similar types of investigative websites. Skills you will be trained on and work with will include: research in the peer reviewed literature, comparative website analysis, risk communication best practices for web design, data presentation, and results summarization.
Technology or Computational Component
This project involves web interface software programming and use.
