Project Description
The industrial sector consumes more than 35% of the world's energy. This project will seek to understand and optimize the energy use of certain manufacturing sites in Indiana. The goal will be to use computational techniques and develop simple analytical models for the electricity consumption of various machinery and equipment. Students will deal with large amounts of electricity data and use and develop their own AI based applications for forecasting, detecting anomalies, and reducing energy usage.
Technology or Computational Component
Students will use cutting-edge data analytics platforms such as time-series dashboards. Cloud-based applications will be developed. Simple analytical models will require some understanding of electricity concepts. More advanced models will be data-driven and require some python and AI
