Project Description
Regulating the influence of implicit bias on group hiring decisions is an important factor in building a diverse workforce. Educating evaluators about implicit bias has a specific and limited impact on hiring outcomes. The use of explicit criteria and rubrics for those criteria are promising approaches for reducing the impact of implicit bias. The current project considers whether further reduction is accomplished when individuals in the group are assigned specific roles related to the evaluation criteria.
Technology or Computational Component
Students will be involved in collecting and analyzing the data. Depending on the student’s previous experience, she could compute descriptive statistics, fit and interpret inferential statistical models, or implement an agent-based model (ABM).
