Project Description

Multichromophore virus-like particles have shown increased brightness which makes them a promising agent for bioimaging applications. This project will focus on expanding range of chromophores we use and optimizing optical properties of virus based system. We use various spectroscopy for system characterization including home-build laser set ups. in this project student will get experience in both synthesis and analytical characterization of samples. This project requires at least 2-3 hours block of times and ideally few times a week.

Technology or Computational Component

We use home-built laser spectroscopy set up for sample characterization, in the fall we will start building new microscopy set-up capable of single particle analysis. Student will be using existing instruments and help with new set-up. We use IgorPro software for data analysis which is often require basic programming skills.
