Project Description
The purpose of this project is to analyze the prevalence and effectiveness of special education plans across elementary schools in the US. Effectiveness will be measured in terms of chronic absenteeism, disciplinary actions, and the incidence rate of bullying. The purpose of this study is to consider the link between access to special education programming and academic performance. The project will identify drivers of inequities and consider how these outcomes translate to student performance beyond school.
Technology or Computational Component
The project will involve statistical analysis in Stata and Tableau. The student will be given hands-on, 1:1 training to use these programs. Further, skills related to time management, dataset management, and literature reviews are skills the student will develop.
