These professional development awards serve to supplement travel expenses for undergraduate women researchers to attend conferences. Undergraduate students who are current or past participants in our Emerging Scholars Research Experience for Undergraduate Women are encouraged to apply.
A brief outline of the purpose of the trip (for example: Poster presentation, Research talk, workshop presentation, etc.)
An up-to-date resume of the person who will travel
Dates of the proposed trip
Anticipated impact on professional development
Projected cost of transportation and lodging
Availability of other funds that will help to supplement the costs of the proposed trip. While it is desirable for PIs to contribute as well, this is certainly not required if there are no other sources of funds are available.
Amount of funding requested, up to $500. Please include faculty mentor name and research account number.
Only future travel will be funded. Trips or any part of the travel costs that have already been incurred will not be reimbursed.
Per Diem costs should not be included in the anticipated travel costs.
Funds must be used for the approved travel only. If the awardee is unable to travel as planned, the awardee should notify us with the reason for the trip cancellation. If a new opportunity for travel arises, the awardee must apply for new funds.
Any awarded funds will be transferred to Faculty research account for distribution.
