Jeannette joined the Center in January of 2023. As an IUB alumna, she received her B.A. in Communication and Culture in 2003 focusing on film and media studies with minors in Fine Arts and Telecommunications. Jeannette moved to New York City in 2005 to attend The New School, where she continued studying film and media theory, and earned her M.A. in Media Studies. After leaving New York and returning to Bloomington, she worked in local television and eventually branched out to more diverse forms of media as the specialist in charge of the local library’s digital creativity center. She experimented with library programming that involved video and audio production, 3D printing, virtual reality, game design, and all kinds of STEAM tools and activities. In 2019, Jeannette took a position at IU for UITS in student engagement and outreach, working to increase engagement and adoptions of all of IU’s many available technology tools. As the delighted child of a Radio Shack product tester, Jeannette’s passion for technology and media has persisted her whole life and has currently found a happy home at the Center as Assistant Director.
In her spare time, Jeannette loves spending time in nature hiking and exploring; taking care of her plants; honing her modest pottery skills; and spending time with her husband, Zac and her dog, Potter.
