Job Summary

The Experience Design Alliance is dedicated to building a vibrant, inclusive community where students across disciplines come together to explore the full spectrum of designing human-centered experiences. Our aim is to empower students with the skills, mindset, and confidence to craft intentional, ethical, and impactful experiences across digital and physical spaces.

Role for Intern Position:

  • Work with and assist the lead intern and fellow interns to launch, build, and grow an engaged learning community of undergraduate and graduate women students interested in experience design.
  • Assist in the creation of a strategic plan for the year including mission, goals, marketing, implementation plan, and desired outcomes.
  • Schedule events, workshops, speakers, and other activities for the IU community to further common interests.
  • Help provide timely reports to CEW&T regarding marketing plans, attendance, and assessment information following various programs.
  • Commit to the overall mission of CEW&T and to the goals of the team to develop a meaningful community.
  • Serve as a role model to members.
  • Be an advocate for women and underrepresented groups in web design.
  • Submit weekly progress reports to Lead Intern.

All student employees are required to:

  • Attend weekly meetings with your team. Reasonable availability is required.
  • Complete the Leadership Training and Development Course on Canvas. You will be given access to this course once you are on payroll.
  • Attend the 2026 Leadership Training on August 28th from 6–8pm and August 29th from 9am–4pm.
  • Attend the Women’s Networking Reception with Employers on September 16th, 2026 from 6–8:30pm.
  • Attend and present at our annual Summit, scheduled for February 27th and 28th, 2026.
  • Attend Intern Celebrations on April 26th, 2026 from 5:30–7:30pm; December 4th, 2026 from 4:30–6:30pm; and April 25th, 2027 from 5:30–7:30pm.

Qualifications

Prior leadership experience. Strong communication and project management/organizational skills. Experience with web design. Knowledgeable about the use of social media. Passionate about sharing enthusiasm for technology.

Schedule and Pay

Work Schedule

An average of 3-5 hours per week.
