Track: Technology Skills & Tools

This workshop provides an entry-level introduction to web-based Virtual Reality. Participants will gain a basic understanding of Virtual Reality development by creating their own VR experience from scratch using A-Frame. The final VR scene can be viewed on any VR headset or mobile device.

Please bring a laptop and sign up for a Glitch account before the workshop. If you have a mouse for your laptop, we recommend bringing it to use, but it is not required.

Lindsey Kitchell

Lindsey is the lead intern for the 3D Printing & Design Team. Lindsey is a graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychological and Brain Sciences and Cognitive Science. She holds an MSc. in Palaeoanthropology and Palaeolithic Archaeology from University College London as well as a B.A. in Anthropology and Cognitive Science from IU Bloomington. Her research in paleoanthropology led her to learn about 3D printing and even purchase her own 3D printer four years ago in order to create physical models of the digital anatomical data she was working with. Lindsey is very excited to share her extensive experience with 3D printing, 3D design, and even 3D scanning techniques with the IU and our community this year.
