Scholars' Book Fair

Scholars Book Fairs at IU are playful and exploratory looks at affordable content -- and how we can all help drive down the costs of education for students. Faculty, check out low cost, high quality education materials ranging from eTexts, digital courseware, and open educational resources to virtual reality, 3D printing, and streaming video.

This year, we're again partnering with UITS Learning Technologies to host the Book Fair in conjuction with the Summit. 

NOTE: You do NOT have to register for the Summit to drop by this fair. However, if you wish to attend any other Summit activities, we kindly request that you register

Intersection of Critical Internet Studies and IU expertise – Social Implications of Digital Technologies

Vivian Halloran, Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, College of Arts and Sciences, Professor of English will moderate this panel, which follows up on the local applications of some of the principles Dr. Safiya Noble addresses in her keynote speech by bringing together several scholars with ties to IU who are working on the social implications of digital technologies. The panelists will discuss their own journeys into digital work, including entrepreneurship and research, that addresses the sometimes hidden impact that technology has on our social, emotional, and embodied lives. They will also address the impact of algorithmic justice movements in their own engagements with digital and/or technology fields and explain how their IU connections inform how they approach their work.
