Web Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, the web maintenance assistant performs a variety of tasks required to produce and maintain CEW&T's emails.


  • Maintain websites: post news stories, create new and edit existing website content.
  • Assist with organizing, catergorizing, and tagging web graphic and text elements.
  • Maintain accurate file-naming conventions.
  • Code HTML-only marketing emails (No CSS).
  • Other duties as assigned.
All student employees are required to:
  • Attend mandatory Student Leadership Orientation Retreat the first weekend after fall classes begin.
  • Work at our annual Technlogy Summit



  • Must be a current IU Bloomington student
  • Proficient with HTML/CSS and other standard office software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn web and email best practices
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn and implement web accessibility
  • Beginning Photoshop skills
  • Capable of troubleshooting in web environments 
  • Capable of working independently and completing projects with little oversight
  • Must be punctual and maintain a reliable schedule
  • Strong command of English spelling and grammar


  • Knowledge of Bootstrap and/or other web languages (JS, PHP, Ruby, etc.)
  • Experience with IU's WCMS and Framework
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Schedule and Pay

Work Schedule

8-10 hours per week to be performed mostly during normal business hours (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm), with some evening and weekend hours possible. Preference is for someone who can work a couple of hours every day, Monday - Friday.
