Backup Photography & Videography Intern

Job Summary

The backup photographer/videographer will work on an on-call basis, assisting in documenting our events via photography and videographer.  This position will fill in whenever the primary videographer and/or photographer are not available Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • When, asked, attend our events to take pictures and/or video
  • Edit digital images and/or video when appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

 All student employees are required to:

  • Attend mandatory Student Leadership Orientation Retreat the first weekend after fall classes begin.
  • Work at the annual Summit on March 6 & 7, 2019.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be a current IU Bloomington student
  • Strong photography skills are essential, including technical (lighting, depth-of-field, etc.) and artistic composition skills. Must be able to capture creative and compelling images of people and scenes
  • A proficiency in video/video-editing
  • Knowledge of Lightroom, Photoshop or similar photography software
  • Ability to professionally interact with IU administrators, faculty, staff, students, and alumni 
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Flexible schedule/ability to attend and record multiple events throughout the year
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and to deadlines

Preferred

  • Owns or has access to photography and videography equipment, including camera, lights, light meters, tripod, specialty lenses, etc.

Schedule and Pay

Work Schedule

On-call basis; Actual number of hours and days worked each week will vary, depending on our event schedule and marketing needs. Could be as few as 3 or as much as 15 hours/week.
